Make In India - Stonewater, Audio engages in joint research with Precision Devices U.K.

Stonewater Audio Labs have recently launched a new series of premium professional loudspeakers in the Indian markets, “Balance and Definition Series.” The International launch will take place soon.

The entire series has been engineered and developed in partnership with the UK Research and Development team of globally renowned and high-end loudspeaker transducer manufacturer Precision Devices International Ltd (UK).

“There are many aspects to making a quality loudspeaker and it is only when you get all of them right, that you have a truly outstanding product. At Stonewater we are doing just that by marrying our own in-house capabilities with the world leading expertise and technical infrastructure possessed by Precision Devices,” said Vikram Shetty, Marketing Director of Stonewater.

Critical transducer components are custom manufactured in UK, while assembly into enclosure is done in India. Stonewater has a state-of-the-art factory at Pune where they manufacture cabinets of the superior quality using the best of European CNC machines and the finest Void Free birch plywood under stringent quality control.

Mark Oldroyd, Technical Director at Precision Devices UK, was personally responsible for shaping the tonal character of the new Stonewater products.

“This is a much deeper level of cooperation than anything else the Indian market has seen so far. Simply put, this partnership allows Stonewater to make world class products, at highly competitive prices. Make no mistake, we are definitely more expensive than Indian or western brands selling rebadged Chinese products. However if you compare our pricing to a product from a western brand with a similar standard of performance, that’s when you will find us noticeably more economical,” added Vikram.

Balance and Definition Series

The Balance 12 and Balance 15 tops have been engineered to perform well in all areas of professional requirements from tonal refinement and dynamics to efficiency. Crisp and clean highs seamlessly integrate with a highly detailed mid range and low frequency response to provide a balanced tonal signature with immense character. Extensive development work on their phase aligned passive crossovers has ensured that the speakers do not rely heavily on DSP correction.

The Definition series of subwoofers offer high definition, deep and controlled bass with superior SPL. An advanced motor design results in extremely fast responding subwoofers. This allows the user to hear each note distinctively even when the music involves successive bass notes played in rapid succession.

The subwoofers incorporate high excursion drivers, low vibration walls and optimized vents, resulting in a dramatic reduction in port noise, superior dynamics, enhanced power handling and superior level of performance.
