Ansata hosts d&b audiotechnik workshop in Mumbai
Ansata culminated 2016 on a positive note with a successful d&b audiotechnik workshop in Mumbai.
In its vision to promote quality knowledge dissemination across the country, Ansata- the official distribution
partners of global niche pro audio brand, d&b audiotechnik once again held one of their informative workshop
sessions that spotlighted the brand’s avant-garde products and delivered an in-depth insight into its
state-of-the-art software technologies including the ArrayCalc software and the R1 remote control access
and controller.
The workshop was held in Mumbai from 12-14 December 2016 and was well received by the participants who mainly
comprised reputed and tenured live sound engineers and rental company owners from across the regions of Mumbai,
Goa and Vadodara. The course for the entire duration of the workshop was divided into two main sessions – an
instructive theory session followed by a hands-on practical rigging session. The group spent two days of
learning about the product and software, whereas the final day hosted a rigging exercise of the ever efficient
V-series system for different real-world on-field scenarios.
Anthony Fernandes, owner of Goa-based entertainment solutions company- Casant Entertainers, affirmed
that he had a positive experience at the workshop and shared, “Line arrays tend to be complicated and
an underestimated aspect of the event technology industry. Workshops, like the one held in Mumbai by
Ansata, has helped end-users like us to gain a better understanding of cutting-edge line array
technologies such as the ones offered by d&b audiotechnik, and how it is possible to achieve absolute
pristine audio reproduction through the combination of great quality loudspeakers and state-of-the-art
software technology.”
The first two days dealt with the basics of electroacoustics in addition to various other critical sound
reinforcement concepts while also emphasizing products and systems developed by d&b Audiotechnik. Alongside,
the session also highlighted the R1 control software and the ArrayCalc simulation software, wherein the
instructors from team Ansata – Neil Lean and Yatin Tawde discussed how these two unique software modules
can be used to optimize system planning and design for a variety of shows and events.
The group had the opportunity to put these theoretical foundations into practice on the third day, at the live
system rigging exercise hosted by team ANSATA, which took place at the Holy Trinity Church grounds. Here, the
engineers witnessed an in-depth practical demonstration of optimal system rigging procedures and measures,
along with precise calibration of the system using the ArrayCalc software. The instructors also demonstrated
how the R1 remote control software made the working between the amplifiers and speakers an absolutely
effortless experience. With the attendees actively participating in this exercise, the group explored
first-hand how d&b audiotechnik’s advanced series of products and technologies provides the modern day
live sound professional with a system that is easy to setup, extremely simple to use, and absolutely
spot-on in terms of its performance and sound quality.
Nixon Johnny, director of NJ’s Sound Machine, one of the attendees at the workshop, shares, “By dividing the
workshop into theory and a practical session, Neil and team Ansata successfully managed to cover all the
nuances of line array technology in terms of how line arrays work and how the systems express their sound
throughout a venue. And by delving into the intricacies of the types of audio software available to a sound
engineer, we were familiarized with how d&b Audiotechnik has taken care of every detail to ensure that the
process of rigging, aligning and tuning a system is as effortless and as precise as it possibly could be.”
Neil Lean of Ansata shared, “We at Ansata have always strived to deliver the latest in cutting edge audio
technology from world class brands like d&b audiotechnik to the fraternity here in India. Workshops like
these are decisive step in the direction towards enhancing the capacity and value of knowledge and
information available to industry professionals in our country so that they could use this to heighten
the quality of service and performance that they render to their clients and various events, and in-turn,
raise the standards of our industry as a whole. With the overwhelming positivity that we have received in
response to this workshop, we have decided to follow this up with several more knowledge and education
based initiatives in 2017.”
