Harman’s Touring Audio Seminar IMPARTS TRAINING TO EAGER ATTENDEES
Harman Professional solution India recently conducted the Touring Audio Seminar, which was
aimed at imparting hands-on insights and specialized knowledge to industry professionals.
From product overviews to a very special masterclass to realistic practices in a practical
scenario, the seminar covered it all.
This seminar was a perfect case in point. It was attended by a healthy mix of attendees, all
eager to gain an insider’s viewpoint into the varied aspects of Touring Audio that included
technologies and techniques, in addition to various tips and tricks of the trade.
Ashish Barje, Harman India’s national sales manager, broadcast and lighting, kicked off the
event with a product overview covering Soundcraft’s Vi1, Vi2000, Vi3000, Vi5000 and Vi7000
mixers. His presentation tackled topics such as compatibility modes, troubleshooting issues,
I/O options and interfacing.
Senior Application Manager, Sunil Karanjikar then took over and discussed about system
configurations and the best possible practices in the real world scenario. He spoke at
length, even showcasing the advantages of working with specialized JBL software such as
Performance Manager and Line Array Calculator. In fact, Sunil even gave a sneak peek at the
file he had created for the Mumbai leg of the Justin Bieber Purpose World Tour! Mr Karanjikar
wrapped up his sessions with a practical session, granting attendees hands-on experience with
using Line Array Calculator to measure the venue while showcasing JBL VTX series cabinets,
the V20 and the G28, as well as the M22 and M20 stage wedges.
The seminar was also graced by the famed and critically acclaimed Vijay Dayal, Chief Recordist
at Yash Raj Studios, who shared numerous anecdotes from his long and interesting journey, as
well as snippets from his recent recording ventures for big banner films. He also touched upon
his tryst with Analog vs. Digital consoles.
The seminar ended with a fruitful Q&A session, during which the participants were able to take
a closer look at the equipment on show. ‘Over the past few years, the technology in our
products has grown by leaps and bounds,’ said Prashant Govindan, Senior Director, India
and Sri Lanka at Harman. ‘We feel it is our duty to bring our partners and end-users up to
speed with such developments. This seminar was a perfect gathering where the professionals
learnt about the latest updates, and we were exposed to their views, suggestions and
invaluable feedback.’
