Lighting Designer Naveen Deshpande deploys Martin Professional Mac 101 lighting fixtures to enhance wide range of events and performances
Naveen Deshpande, a Lighting designer by profession and CEO at Mixtape deploys Martin Professional Mac 101 at Levi’s Lounge to create stunning visuals for music events, stand-up comedy, arts showcase and much more.
Levi’s Lounge opened its doors for the first time in 2016 in San Francisco and has made its way to Mumbai in November last year. This cultural space encourage collaboration with creative people to support a wide array of communities - from music to art to sports and lifestyle programs. Since its opening, the lighting fixtures were rented as and when required for the gig area. These were local lights, not consistent in their output and choices were limited. As the stature of the venue and performances increased over time, there came the need to install permanent, premium quality, lighting fixtures of repute. Hence the client reached out to Naveen Deshpande, who suggested Martin Professional for their versatility, multi functionality and compact size.
“The 100-capacity gigs area had very limited space and I had to come up with the most optimum solution for lighting keeping in mind the variety of events hosted at the venue. Because the space is versatile, I wanted a mix of intelligent and conventional lighting system. In this scenario Martin professional Mac 101 suited the best due to their compact size and multi functionality as a wash as well as a beam. The MAC 101’s are small, super light and easy-to-use LED moving heads at a low price tag. They are perfect beam lights that create stunning effects not only from the different positions on the ceiling, but also from their position on stage, they create a fast and bright wash effect in between the LED panels. As a lighting designer, Martin Professional lighting fixtures are a delight to work as one can experiment with scenes created on stage thanks to a very bright and tight beam, rapid movement and calibrated colors.
