The new Sennheiser MKH 8030 elevates sound taking precision audio to the next level
On 30th July 2024, Sennheiser, one of the leading names in audio technology, announced the
launch of
its MKH 8030 Figure-8 RF condenser microphone in India. This latest addition to Sennheiser's
renowned MKH 8000 series is priced at INR 1,39,900 (MRP), reflecting its premium position in
the
market.
The MKH 8030 is designed to cater to the needs of high-end recording professionals, offering
versatile recording options including M-S, double M-S, and Blumlein stereo configurations.
Its
figure-8 pickup pattern makes it particularly adept at minimizing the pickup of unwanted sound
sources, such as eliminating noise from PA systems or adjacent instruments. The microphone's sound
signature is engineered to integrate seamlessly with the existing MKH 8000 series, ensuring a
harmonious audio experience.
Mr. Vipin Pungalia, Country Manager & Director of Sales Pro Audio at Sennheiser India,
expressed
enthusiasm about the launch: "We are excited to introduce the MKH 8030 Figure-8 RF Condenser
Microphone in India. This new model sets a new standard in precision and versatility, thanks to its
symmetrical, acoustically open transducer and low-tension diaphragm. The MKH 8030 reflects
Sennheiser's commitment to delivering exceptional audio quality and will enable professionals to
capture sound with extraordinary clarity and detail."
The MKH 8030 joins a distinguished lineup within the MKH 8000 family, which includes various models
designed for different recording needs: the MKH 8020 (omni-directional), MKH 8090
(wide cardioid),
MKH 8040 (cardioid), MKH 8050 (super-cardioid), MKH 8060 (short shotgun),
MKH 8070 (long shotgun),
and the MKH 800 TWIN, a dual-capsule microphone with adjustable pick-up patterns.
Noteworthy features of the MKH 8000 series microphones include their RF condenser principle,
symmetrical capsule design, and remarkable performance in challenging conditions. These microphones
are known for their exceptional sensitivity, wide frequency response, low self-noise, and a natural
sound image with minimal off-axis coloration.
In addition to the new microphone, Sennheiser has updated its accessory range for the MKH 8000
series. The MZE extension tubes now feature a rotatable head to accommodate the MKH 8030's
orientation, and the MZGE 8000 tube connector has been reinforced. The new MZH 8042 gooseneck has
also been introduced, designed to deliver the outstanding audio quality of MKH microphones in
lectern setups.
