LN-210 and SB-221 speakers with Lavoce drivers installed at SkyPadel Sundowner, delivering coverage across padel courts, pickleball courts and outdoor seating

SkyPadel Sundowner at Hotel Sahara Star blends padel and pickleball with music, cocktails and an audio setup by Team Narain. The hallmark of this destination is its luxurious outdoor seating, offering patrons a refreshing poolside escape. To complement the same, Team Narain designed the system accordingly. The audio system uses Nx Audio amplifiers and processors and Linare, a line of speakers and line arrays made by Narain for Lavoce Italiana drivers, to bring the venue to life.
SkyPadel Sundowner features the Proton by Nx Audio MT2601, a Class D amplifier delivering 4000W + 4000W RMS at 4 Ohms with a damping factor above 1200. It uses linear transformers for dynamic range at high power levels, protection circuitry, RF/EMI rejection and a toroidal transformer-based power supply for accurate bass control.
Paired with this is the Proton RX5004, a four-channel amplifier providing 1500W RMS per channel at 4 Ohms. It employs a Class H circuit design with copper transformers and silicon steel cores to minimise electromagnetic loss and manage temperature during extended use.
The system also includes the Nx Audio DX-480 digital speaker management unit, operating at a 96kHz sampling frequency with 32-bit AD/DA converters. It offers four analogue inputs, eight analogue outputs and two AES/EBU inputs, with a dynamic range above 100dB (20Hz–20kHz) and distortion below 0.02% at 1kHz, +18dBm.
For loudspeakers, the installation uses Lavoce Italiana components integrated into Linare systems by Narain Audio. Line arrays covering the pool, bar, dance floor and seating areas are Linare LN-210 models, each with two 10-inch Lavoce drivers rated at 750W programme power, 3-inch copper voice coils, aluminium frames and cooling systems. They support bi-amp or passive operation and include passive crossovers and standard rigging hardware.
Subwoofers are Linare SB-221 units, each housing a 21-inch Lavoce driver with a 4.5-inch voice coil and 4000W programme power. The design incorporates an aluminium basket, FEM-optimised motor and suspension, enhanced cooling, double silicon spider and triple-roll surround. Covering the padel and pickleball courts and outdoor seating are FR-12 speakers, each using 12-inch Lavoce woofers with 2.5-inch copper voice coils rated at 500W AES programme power.
The setup also included the Nx Audio Melody8, an eight-channel live mixer, paired with the UHF58 dual handheld microphone, a frequency-variable upgrade to the UHF200. Monitoring was handled by the Nx Audio HAWK-12DSP, a 450W RMS speaker in a rugged cabinet.
Additional equipment comprised two waterproof high-resolution screens, waterproof lighting fixtures including moving heads and addressable LED strips, and a 25W laser.
About the install, Rishi Kohli, the mind behind SkyPadel Sundowner at Sahara Star, had this to say: “I loved the look of the red line arrays from the start as it perfectly suited the vibe! I trusted the audio and visual decisions to Manoj and his team, and they really did justice to balancing the audio in such an open space, the DJ at our launch party, DJ Claudia, said it was the best sound system she’s ever played at – and she’s not the only one to say that to us.”
