As one of India’s most iconic performers, Yo Yo Honey Singh is celebrated for his dynamic stage presence and deep connection with his fans. Lighting designers Bala Subramanya (aka Vinod) and Guru Somayaji of 369 Design Lab turned to the grandMA3 lighting control system for his recent “MILLIONAIRE INDIA TOUR” a high-energy spectacle that rocked ten major Indian cities and left audiences spellbound.
Vinod, a grandMA user since 2014, and Guru, since 2018, shared that the decision to specify grandMA3 was both technical and creative. “The grandMA3 platform gives us the flexibility and workflow we need for a demanding touring schedule,” said Guru. “With multiple venue variations and limited programming time, we needed a system that was MVR-friendly and seamlessly integrated with Vectorworks and grandMA3 checked every box.”

The 369 Design Lab team, now fully transitioned to grandMA3 running software version 2.3, worked with SSL Lights from Mumbai, who supplied four grandMA3 full-size consoles and two grandMA3 processing units L, alongside 350+ lighting fixtures. The team also deployed a grandMA3 on PC 2Port Node to control Xylo wristbands for audience interactivity.
Collaborating closely with Pixadoo Visuals, led by creative director and VJ Kaycee, 369 Design Lab developed a bold trussing layout, stage design, and lighting plot that blended lighting and visuals into one immersive environment.
Vinod shared that the design journey began with sketches “on pen and paper — a process that helps us visualize freely before moving into software like Vectorworks.” Once approved, the studio finalised the 3D design and previsualisation using grandMA3’s inbuilt 3D viewer, Capture, and later Depence R4 for detailed lighting and laser simulations.
On tour, Vinod and Guru shared operating duties at FOH, supported by Albin Biju, who managed lasers and key lighting for the camera. The laser systems, powered by Pangolin Beyond, were triggered via Art-Net through grandMA3, ensuring precise synchronisation with lighting and effects.
The team designed three versions of the production- a grand indoor setup for NESCO, Mumbai; a 360-degree format for Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi; and an outdoor version adapted for various venues, using Giant Truss DDR 85 and DDR 86 systems.
All shows were executed with consistent production partners - SSL Lights (Mumbai) for lighting and control, Shrijee FX (Indore) for SFX, Laser VIBGYOR (New Delhi) for lasers, and Giant Truss for trussing. With only three weeks from project approval to the first load-in, the 369 Design Lab team delivered excellence under pressure.
“This tour was a benchmark project that showcased the strength of the grandMA3 ecosystem,” said Guru Somayaji. “Its power and reliability allowed us to deliver a seamless experience for the artist and his audience, no matter the venue or scale.”
