Bose Reimagines Home Audio with New Lifestyle Collection

Published on 5th May, 2026.

Bose has announced the launch of its new Lifestyle Collection, a home audio range developed to combine performance, flexibility, and ease of use across domestic environments. The collection comprises a wireless smart speaker, an immersive soundbar, and a dedicated subwoofer, all designed to function either independently or as an integrated system across single or multiple rooms.

The Lifestyle Collection supports Google Cast, Apple AirPlay, and Spotify Connect, allowing users to stream audio directly from supported platforms and group speakers across different spaces, including devices from other manufacturers. Connectivity is also available via Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth, while control is managed through an updated Bose app designed to streamline setup and system configuration.

Product availability and finishes

The range includes the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker priced at $299, the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar at $1,099, and the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer at $899. All products will be available from 15 May, with preorders open via Bose.com.

The collection is offered in Black and White Smoke finishes. In addition, the Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is available in a limited‑edition Driftwood Sand finish priced at $349, featuring a solid white oak base intended to develop a natural patina over time.

Heritage and design intent

The new products build on more than four decades of Bose home audio development, following earlier systems such as the original Lifestyle series and the Wave radio. According to Bose, the aim of the collection is to deliver high‑quality sound in compact, visually integrated designs intended for modern living spaces.

Raza Haider, president of premium consumer audio at Bose Corporation, stated that the collection was developed to simplify access to high‑quality audio, with flexibility in both system configuration and physical placement forming a core design principle.

System configurations and performance

The Lifestyle Collection is engineered for modular use. A single Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is designed for everyday listening in smaller spaces such as offices, bedrooms, or kitchens, while two speakers can be paired for stereo playback. The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar functions as a standalone home cinema solution, or can be expanded with a subwoofer and two additional speakers to create a 7.1.4‑channel home theatre system.

Across all configurations, Bose states that the system is tuned to preserve clarity, balance, and dynamic range through proprietary signal processing and acoustic design.

Lifestyle Ultra Speaker

The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker incorporates a revised version of Bose’s Direct/Reflecting technology using a three‑driver configuration: two forward‑facing drivers and one upward‑firing driver. This design directs sound towards ceilings and walls to create a wider perceived soundstage compared with conventional compact speakers.

The speaker also features TrueSpatial audio processing to add height and dimensionality to stereo and mono content, particularly when used in paired configurations. CleanBass technology, working in conjunction with a proprietary QuietPort acoustic opening and digital signal processing, is designed to extend low‑frequency performance from the compact enclosure.

Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar

The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar marks Bose’s first major soundbar redesign in over a decade. It incorporates a new acoustic architecture with six full‑range drivers—four forward‑facing and two upward‑firing—alongside a centre tweeter and PhaseGuide drivers. The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos playback, delivering three‑dimensional sound with height information from a single enclosure.

For non‑Atmos content, TrueSpatial processing is used to create a more immersive sound field. SpeechClarity, an AI‑based dialogue enhancement feature, allows adjustable vocal emphasis, while CustomTune technology (previously known as ADAPTiQ) calibrates audio output based on room acoustics using a mobile device microphone during setup. Bose reports that the soundbar delivers its lowest frequencies to date, alongside improved high‑frequency detail and a wider soundstage.

Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer

Completing the system, the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer is a wireless bass module designed to handle low‑frequency reproduction for both music and film soundtracks. Using CleanBass processing and a QuietPort opening, it is intended to deliver controlled bass response at higher volumes while allowing the soundbar and speakers to focus on mid‑ and high‑frequency detail.

Design, control, and app integration

All components in the Lifestyle Collection share a unified design language, with sculpted forms and fabric grilles influenced by home furnishings. The soundbar and subwoofer include curved enclosures with premium glass detailing.

The updated Bose app provides guided installation, consolidated permissions, and Wi‑Fi credential sharing across devices. Once configured, users can adjust equalisation, surround levels, and height channels, with additional control available via physical touch buttons, compatible TV remotes, voice assistants including Amazon Alexa, and native music service applications.
