1 SOUND Launches SONA Series

Published on 6th May, 2026

1 SOUND has unveiled the SONA Series, a new range of high-fidelity, full-range point source loudspeakers designed for architectural and distributed audio applications where clarity, discreet form factor and seamless integration are essential.

The series debuts with the Sona 35, a passive, 3-way architectural loudspeaker that delivers balanced, consistent sound from a compact enclosure. With frequency response extending down to 58 Hz, the Sona 35 can operate as a full-range solution in many applications, with or without subwoofer support depending on system design.

Internally, the loudspeaker combines a coaxial element with dedicated low-frequency drivers and passive radiators. This configuration enables greater low-frequency extension and higher SPL performance than typically expected from a loudspeaker of its size, while retaining detail and presence in a visually unobtrusive format.

Designed for versatility, the SONA Series suits a wide range of environments. In hospitality venues such as restaurants and lounges, the Sona 35 can be deployed vertically or horizontally as part of a distributed system, with customisable finishes ensuring discreet visual integration. In theatres and houses of worship, it is suitable for front-fill and under-balcony roles where even coverage and speech intelligibility are critical. Conference rooms, classrooms and residential media spaces can also benefit from its compact footprint and full-range performance.

The Sona 35 is IP55-rated and saltwater-resistant, with a dedicated marine version available for demanding environments including cruise ships, resorts and cold‑climate installations.

Installation is simplified through a recessed mounting bracket that allows flush wall or ceiling mounting with an approximate four-inch profile, making it ATA-compliant. An optional tilt bracket provides fixed-angle adjustment while maintaining a clean architectural aesthetic.

Despite its compact size, the Sona 35 is positioned as a flexible, full‑range solution capable of adapting to a variety of professional and architectural audio applications.
